Abstract

1369152 Roller-and-belt machines T HAYASHI 13 Jan 1972 [14 Jan 1971] 1745/72 Heading B5A A roller device for moulding dough pieces 23 to obtain multi-layered, flattened, or cylindrical products comprises a conveyer belt 8 and a number of rollers 1 between which the dough pieces are fed, the rollers being movable in unison in the same linear direction as the belt at the region whereat the rollers lie alongside the belt, means being provided for adjusting the relative linear velocities of the belt and rollers, and the peripheral velocity of the rollers. The latter are rotatably mounted on shafts 3, Fig. 3, extending from endless conveyer chains 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, extending between sprockets 4, 41 and 5, 5<SP>1</SP>. One end of each roller has a gear 6 which meshes with a rack gear 7 whereby rotational movement is imparted to the rollers and is dependent on chain speed and the relative dimensions of the gears 6, 7. The chains are driven by a chain (16), Fig. 2 (not shown) extending from a gear (18) on a shaft (20) driven from a variable speed gear; the belt 8 is driven by a chain (17) driven by a gear (19) engaging the gear (18). By changing the gears (18, 19) the ratio of the linear velocities of the belt and rollers is varied. The dough pieces are fed into the device via a guide 11, Fig. 4, adjustable horizontally to vary the distance D between the guide and rollers; the guide may also be turned about a pivot 29. A vibrator 13 is positioned adjacent the guide.
