Abstract

1369076 Cathode-ray tubes RCA CORPORATION 3 Dec 1971 [8 Dec 1970] 56149/71 Heading H1D A convergence assembly for a three-beam colour cathode-ray tube consists of three pairs of internal polepieces 26a-26b, 27a-27b, 28a-28b, each pair having a respective pair of external exciting coils 29a-29b, 31a-31b, 32a-32b and a circumferential ferromagnetic core 33 around the coils to concentrate the exciting fields of the polepieces and to shield the electron beams from extraneous magnetic fields. The core 33 may consist of several convolutions of nickel-steel strip and the coils may be secured thereto.
