Abstract

1368893 Container closures DAIWA CAN CO Ltd 14 June 1972 27728/72 Heading B8T A container B has a cover 1 having a pull tab 5 connected to a lower part of its skirt which is defined by a score line 3 turning downwards to the skirt edge 15 at both its ends and over its intermediate portion running parallel to the edge 15, the score line extending over an arc which subtends an angle of 185-240 degrees at the centre of the top of the cover. The cover skirt fits over a bead 8 on the container and may be provided with a sealant 2. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), a second score line (11) is provided solely to reduce wear in the scoring machine. The score lines may be on either face of the skirt.
