1368778 Slider for sliding clasp fasteners LIGHTNING FASTENERS Ltd 5 Dec 1972 [22 Dec 1971] 59598/71 Heading E2S A locking slider for a sliding clasp fastener comprises a body 10 defining a Y-shaped channel for rows of coupling elements of a fastener, a locking member support 19 providing an opening 20 between the body 10 and the support, a locking member 23 pivotally mounted about an axis 25 of the member between the body and the support and transversely to the direction of movement of the slider, the locking member having one arm 26 which projects into the channel in a locking position of the member, the arm also extending from the pivotal axis 25 in the opening direction of movement of the slider, and a second arm 27 extending in the opposite direction and into the opening 20, and a pull member 28 having a bar 29 extending transversely through the opening, the bar being located between the support and the second arm 27 upon movement of the pull member in the opening direction of movement of the slider so as to co-act with the second arm to rotate the locking member from its locking position to a release position whereby the first arm 26 is removed from the path of the coupling elements. In other arrangements, Fig. 3-6 (not shown), the bar 29 is of square section, the locking member 23 is biassed to the locking position by a leaf spring (35) and the locking member is made of a resilient plastics material, e.g. nylon in which the free end of the second arm is trapped between the body 10 and the support 19.
