Abstract

1367199 Pistons USS ENGINEERS & CONSULTANTS Inc 26 May 1972 [1 June 1971] 25083/72 Heading F2T A pump piston 14 comprises a body 18 having a flange 19, a wear ring 20 in a first annular recess next to the flange, an elastomer ring 21 in a second recess next to the first and a retainer plate 23 housed in a third recess next to the second and removably secured to the body by screws 24. The elastomer ring has a fabric portion 22 and the wear ring may be of ductile or malleable iron. In the double-acting piston shown, a wear ring, elastomer ring and retainer plate are provided on each side of the flange 19.
