Abstract

1367142 Vibrating bags during filling BLACK PRODUCTS CO 2 Dec 1971 [16 April 1971] 56057/71 Heading B8C A bagging machine comprises bag-supporting saddles 41 connected via bars 19 to a weighing mechanism 16, 17, the saddles being vibrated by reciprocating rods 40 connected to the saddles through double acting coil springs 55, 56 so as to minimize the effect of the vibration on the weighing mechanism. An arm 44 depends from each saddle 41 and is pivoted to levers 45, 50 pivoted to a plate 25 carried by the respective bar 19. The end of each lever 45 carries a collar through which a respective rod 40 passes, the springs 55, 56 being disposed between the collar 53 and nuts 57 on the rod 40. Yokes 38 on the rods 40 surround eccentric cams 37 keyed to a shaft 34 rotated by a motor 34. Hooks 21 on the bars 19 engage a floating frame 14 supported by leaf springs (not shown) on the frame of the machine. The floating frame 14 also supports a filling spout 13 connected to a hopper 12 by flexible tubing.
