Abstract

1365944 Component assemblies SIEMENS AG 12 Oct 1971 [14 Oct 1970] 47363/71 Heading H1R [Also in Division H3] An interference suppressor comprises a network, Fig. 1, including capacitors 1, 21 connected to input and output lines respectively, and chokes 6, 26 each comprising a ferromagnetic ring core with windings mounted in a housing 12, Fig. 2, with conducting partition 7 forming a plane of symmetry for the above components mounted pairwise on either side thereof. A capacitor 3 and resistor 4 connect each line 5 to a point on housing 12 adjacent the partition 7 which latter does not reach the top of the housing, lines 5 passing above it. Walls 9, 29 form the boundary of regions 8, 28 of semi-circular shape to match the ring cores, and which regions, after circuit assembly, are filled with a resin containing 40% of ground quartz or quartz sand. A cover (not shown) is provided. The lines 5 are braided, and of identical lengths, with insulation stripped as necessary at identical distances from an end, for making component connections by passing component leads through the braid and soldering. The suppressor is trimmed by adjusting the lengths of the leads of capacitors 3 until their inductance with the capacitance, forms a resonant circuit near a pole frequency to be suppressed.
