Abstract

847,446. Impedance networks. ERIE RESISTOR CORPORATION. Jan. 20, 1959 [Feb. 20, 1958]; No. 2066/59. Class 40(8). [Also in Group XXXVI] A multiple feedthrough unit comprises an apertured ferrite plate 14 through which extend a number of feed-through conductors 10, each conductor being surrounded by and connected to a pair of tubular shunt capacitors 6, 19 arranged on either side of the plate. The whole unit is enclosed in a metal box 1 which may be filled with a potting compound. The capacitors comprise ceramic tubes 7 having inner electrodes 8 soldered to the conductors 10 and outer electrodes 9 soldered to metallic partition members 3, 16. Since, at high frequencies, the capacitors form transmission lines, they are made of different lengths so that their resonant frequencies do not coincide. The ferrite plate provides a series inductance and the capacitors provide capacitance to earth.
