Abstract
1365584 Reciprocating pumps ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 25 Jan 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 3391/72 Headings F1A and F1F In a sliding vane, or as shown radial piston pump, pressure medium from reservoir 19 is drawn through ducts 18, 17 into a recess 14 in stationary control pin 8 to pass into the bores 9 in a rotating cylinder block 7. As the block 7 rotates the medium is discharged by pistons 10, which are urged by springs 11 against an eccentrically located stroke control ring 13, into recess 15 and outlet ducts 20, 21. Duct 21 contains a throttle 28 and non-return valve 27. Stroke control ring 13 is urged into a full delivery position within oval chamber 2 by a compression spring 32. When the delivery pressure in duct 21 rises over a predetermined value, a pressure limiting valve 26 opens to return the medium to reservoir 19 via ducts 25, 22 and a by-pass valve 24 which opens at a much lower pressure. Pressure medium simultaneously flows into chamber 5 from duct 22 to urge ring 13 to the left against spring 32 to reduce the pump delivery rate, medium consequently displaced from chamber 4 discharging past back pressure valve 34 to reservoir 19 whilst serving to damp the movement of ring 13. When valve 26 once more closes due to the reduced pump delivery, medium bleeds from chamber 5 to chamber 4 through restrictive duct 6, so that ring 13 is moved in a damped manner by spring 32 back to its original position. A leakage outlet 30 from pump chamber 29 is provided.
