Abstract

1365353 Piles SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ BV 26 Oct 1971 [28 Oct 1970] 49653/71 Heading E1H A steel, wooden or reinforced concrete pile of circular, square or octagonal cross-section is provided on its upper part 3 with a bituminous slide layer 8, preferably of the type disclosed in Specification 900665, to reduce negative friction forces. To protect the slide layer during driving the uncoated part 2 of the pile has a cross-section greater than that of the coated part 3, or a protective steel ring is provided adjacent the lower end of the coated part.
