In a tunnel 'lining formed from preformed sections 1 having recesses 4, the recesses are filled with preformed blocks 6. The sections are of concrete, and the blocks are of concrete or plastics. A ring 9 and wedges 10 serve to hold the blocks whilst fixing them to the sections with grout or adhesive.
