Abstract

1364032 Remanent relays INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 30 Jan 1973 [31 Jan 1972] 4685/73 Heading H1N A relay suitable for a cross-point matrix has a pair 1, 2 of co-operating reed contact members projecting into or through the apertures of a pair of coils 6, 7 mounted side-by-side and each reed member 1, 2 is of two part construction comprising a flexible non-magnetic part 10, 11, by which the member 1, 2 is mounted, and a magnetic part 12, 13 secured at one end to the free end of the respective flexible part 10, 11 so as to lie alongside the flexible part. The other end of the magnetic part is formed as or carries a contact 4, 5 for co-operation with the corresponding contact part 5, 4. The parts 12, 13 are of remanent material so that the contacts remain in operative position after differential and additive energization of crosspoint coils 6, 7, 8, 9. The relay may have a magnetically shielding casing (Figs. 3a, 3b, not shown) and a plurality of contact sets using one pair of sideby-side coils.
