Abstract
1,105,080. Electromagnetic relays. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORPORATION. 10 Feb., 1967 [16 Feb., 1966], No. 6516/67. Heading H1N. An electromagnetic relay having one or more rows of sealed magnetic contact units surrounded by a rectangular cross-section coil is provided with magnetic flux return members 11<SP>1</SP>, 12<SP>1</SP> which fit over the coil with their ends bent towards the projecting ends of the contact units, the flux return members being so shaped as to reduce the magnetic reluctance of the magnetic circuits of the contact units at or near the centre of the row or rows as compared with the units at or near the ends of the row or rows, to equalize the magnetization required for operation. The ends 13<SP>1</SP>, 14<SP>1</SP> may be convex as shown, the width of the flux return members may be less than that of a row of contact units (Fig. 3, not shown) and the ends of the return members may be nearer the central contact units.
