Abstract

1363903 Air curtains C G ALLANDER 25 Aug 1971 [4 Sept 1970] 39928/71 Heading F4V In a room 3, a zone 1 is screened by an air curtain 2 and supplied with ventilating air through apertures 11, air is delivered to the room outside the air curtain 2 through an inlet 5 to replace air drawn off by the curtain 2, and air outlets 6 are provided in the floor of the room or at the foot of the walls of the room, the volumes of air supplied through inlets 5 and 11 being equal. An inlet 10 for the curtain 2 and the inlet 5 are formed as single slots in annular channels which may be polygonal, e.g. triangular, rectangular, square or circular or elliptical in plan. The room may be a hospital operating theatre or a space for making precision instruments.
