1363319 Bearings DURKOPPWERKE GmbH 11 Dec 1972 [24 Feb 1972] 56978/72 Heading F2A A thrust roller bearing comprises race-rings connected by an over-ring which is slidably guided on one of the two rings so that the bearing forms a sealed unit; the race rings comprise annular channel constructions having open mouths directed axially towards each other to define a passage for the rollers, and the overring co-operates with holding projections on the radially outer side walls of the channel constructions. The race rings are made either from hardened steel sheet by deep drawing or flow pressing (Fig. 1), or from glass fibre reinforced synthetic material with hardened steel plate inserts (Fig. 9). In the Fig. 9 embodiment, the projections are formed by cutting back the inner margins of the walls to form recesses 16, 16<SP>1</SP> in which there engages a curved resilient steel over-ring 17. A comb-cage, or a front face contact ring for the rollers may be present.
