Abstract

1363224 Ladder attachment D G FITTER 14 July 1971 [15 April 1970] 17902/70 Heading E1S A ladder attachment for supporting planking and a handrail from a ladder, comprises a bracket 1 having a hook-like member 4 for engaging over a rung 3, a hanger 7 having a hook-like member 14 at its upper end for engaging over a higher rung and being connected at its lower end to the bracket 1 to support the bracket in a horizontal position for supporting planking 11, and an arm 15 extending from the upper end of the hanger for supporting a handrail 16 above the planking The lower part of the hanger has a series of holes 9 for selective connection with the bracket by a pin 10. This pin, and a simialr pin 10d connecting the arm 15 to the hanger, is of U-shape with one bent limb which engages behind the hanger after insertion and rotation of the pin, to prevent accidental displacement thereof. The hook-like members 4, 14 may be channel-section members which may contain locating pieces 20 for secure engagement with tapered rungs.
