Abstract
1363149 Mechanical switches SWF-SPEZIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU GmbH 7 Oct 1971 [13 Oct 1970] 46660/71 Heading H1N A switch for operating direction indicators of motor vehicles having a control lever 24 with a handle 30 thereon comprises an additional switch device accommodated in the handle 30 for controlling windscreen wiping and washing installations, wherein said additional device comprises a first contact arrangement 27, 43 and 40, 41 for switching the wiper motor on and off, this being effected by successive axial movements of the handle 30, and a second contact arrangement 11, 28, 29, controllable by rotation of handle 30 about its own axis and having a position 33 for operating the motor at slow speed, a position 34 which is retractive to the slow speed position 33 for controlling the washing installation, and a position 37 for operating the motor at fast speed, there being a member 36 secured to the control lever which angularly returns the switch handle to the slow speed position 33 if it is in the fast speed position 37 when the handle is moved axially. A further position, beyond the fast speed position, may be provided for intermittent operation of the wiper motor, the handle being angularly restored to the slow speed position by the same return member 36 when it is moved axially. The positions 33, 34 and 37 are located by contact arm 28 acting as a spring detent on a cam member 32 as in Specification 1,362,986. An axially movable rod 26 may operate a further additional switch device (not shown).
