Abstract
1362646 Electric incandescent lamp WAGNER ELECTRIC CORP 6 March 1973 [24 March 1972] 10955/73 Heading H1F An electric incandescent lamp is made by joining two or more filaments by linking members to form a filament assembly, inserting the filament assembly into a lamp case, flushing the lamp case and press sealing the ends of the case to leave at least a portion of the linking members external of the lamp case but the filaments within the sealed lamp case, and severing at least one of the linking members. Both linking members may be severed (Fig. 4, not shown) or the unsevered member may be covered with a metal cap (Fig. 5, not shown). One of the press seals may be made before or during flushing of the lamp case. The lead-in wires of the lamp may be an alloy of Ni and Fe covered with a copper sleeve and a coating of Ni or borate or they may be an alloy of Ni, Fe and Cr. The linking members may be of Ni + Fe + Cr alloy or Ni whilst the lamp case may be of soda lime glass.
