1362246 Protractors JAMES NEILL HOLDINGS Ltd 24 Aug 1972 [11 June 1971] 27385/71 Heading G1X A bevel protractor comprises a base-plate 1 provided with an integral blade 2 and a circular scale 8, a boss 4 extending through the centre of the circular scale 8, and a bevel plate 13 rotatably fitted on the boss 4, the bevel plate 13 carrying a vernier scale and a carrier for an adjustable blade 18. As shown, the circular scale 8 which may be of plastics material and adhered to a metal base-plate 1 is viewed through a window 16 in the bevel plate 13 together with the vernier scale which may be provided either on the window 16 itself or on a transparent plastics plate 10 secured to the bevel plate 13. The adjustable blade 18 which is clamped to the bevel plate 1 by a manually adjustable element 20 having a projection 19 engaging a slot 22 in the blade 18 is rotatable relative to the blade 2 about the axis defined by the boss 4 once a knurled nut 14 is loosened, the relative angular positioning of the blades being indicated on the scales.
