An international drawing apparatus for producing various closed curves comprises a rotatable circular platform 20 supporting drawing- paper 19, drawing means such as a pencil or ball-point 25 supported on an angular arm 21 having a shaped edge 21a and a pivot 15 which can be inverted in any one of a plurality of recesses 14 in a toothed plate 11, and a button 4 for manually rotating a disc 5 geared to the plate 11 through a toothed plate 8 having a plurality of depressions 9, into one or more of which are selectively inserted pegs 10 for co-operation with the edge 21a The platform 20 is rotated through the plate 11 by a toothed belt 16. Pegs 10 can be stored on the cover of the apparatus, and a plurality of interchangeable arms 21 provided, with varying edges 21a. In operation, rotation of the disc 5 produces closed curves on the paper, the shape of the curves depending on the shape of the edge 21a and the positions of the pegs 10 and the pivot 15. The drawing means 25 is mounted on an oscillating support 24, and resilient means 26 maintain it in operative or inoperative position. In another form, the plate 8 is replaced by a single stud and the disc 5 geared to the plate 11. In a further form, the plate 11 is omitted, the pivot 15 fixed, and the belt 16 driven from the plate 8.
