Abstract

1361215 Buoyant hose YOKOHAMA RUBBER CO Ltd 30 Nov 1971 [9 June 1971] 55616/71 Heading F2P A floatable hose comprises a reinforced inner tube 11 of rubber, flexible tubular members 13 helically carried on the tube 11 and a protective outer covering 14, 16 overlying said tubular members. The tubular members are preferably of rubber and are anchored in position by helically wound supporting strips 19, 20 of substantially triangular cross-section. The inner and outer layers may incorporate reinforcing layers of fabric 12, 15 and the hose can have end fittings 23 and end reinforcing means 22 in the form of beaded wire. The tubular members are incorporated whilst filled with non-compressive fluid or powder and are subsequently emptied and their ends stopped by plugs 17.
