Abstract

1360482 Dyeing synthetic materials IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES LTD 22 Feb 1972 [2 March 1971] 5795/71 Heading D1B Synthetic textile materials e.g. aromatic polyester, nylon and cellulose triacetate are dyed with a solution, suspension or dispersion of a dye of formula: in which A is the radical of a diazo component, X is an acylamino group other than a ureido group, the benzene ring B optionally being substituted in a halogenated hydrocarbon at a temperature of 60‹ to 170‹C. Water in an amount of 0.2 to 5% based on the volume of halogenated hydrocabon may be added to the dyebath, the preferred halogenated hydrocarbon being perchloroethylene. Preferably A is a phenyl radical, X is -NHCOT where T is hydrogen, lower (C 1-4 ) alkyl or phenyl or is -NHCOOT' or -NHSO 2 T' where T' is lower C 1-4 alkyl or aryl goup. Polyurea deflocculating agents are used.
