Abstract

1360033 Combs N D McKAY 24 June 1971 [29 June 1970] 29623/71 Heading A4V A comb 11 for enabling a hair treatment composition to be applied to the hair during combing comprises a back 12 having means which detachably hold a resilient cartridge insert 18 having a plurality of teeth 22 which define a receptacle pocket 19 receiving a stick 20 composed of a solid or semi-solid hair treatment composition. The hair treatment composition may be a hair dye, a hair set substance, or a medication. As shown, the insert 18 is provided with gripping extensions 25 for snap engagement with gripping channels (15), Fig. 5 (not shown), of the back 12. In an alternative form the insert may slide into the back. The back may, or may not, be provided with teeth 13. The comb may be provided with an elongated "rat tail" handle. In use the stick 20 releases particles of hair treatment composition, and is gradually used up.
