Abstract

667,947. Combs. CROAD, A. K. (Hazza, J.) June 23, 1950. No. 15787/50. Class 131. [Also in Group XVII] In a veterinary comb the back member is formed with a receptacle for powder, provided with a removable cover plate, and a row of teeth some of which are hollow and communicate with the powder receptacle, each of the hollow teeth being provided internally with a rearwardly and downwardly inclined surface leading to an opening spaced from the lower end of the tooth. As shown, sloping surfaces 7, 8 in the receptacle 4 direct the powder towards the passages 5 in the teeth 3 provided with sloping surfaces 9 leading to apertures 10 in the curved, rear surface 11. The surfaces 9 retain the powder against discharge until the comb is moved from the upright position to an inclined position as shown in Fig. 3. A device 14, for agitating the powder, is secured at one end of the receptacle.
