Abstract

1359686 Valves NSF Ltd 2 Oct 1972 [29 Sept 1971] 45345/71 Heading F2V [Also in Division H1] An actuator 7, Fig. 1, for a fluid valve has a keyhole slot 8b, Fig. 4, extending in the direction of movement of the actuator and is locked in its released position by the headed end 10a of a locking member 10 which engages in the enlarged portion 8e of the keyhole slot 8b. For actuation, the locking member 10 is manually depressed against the action of its return spring 12 so that the headed end 10a passes through the slot 8b into a recess 8 in the actuator to release the actuator 7 for movement. In a modification an additional enlarged portion 8c may be provided at the opposite end of the slot 8b so that the actuator 7 may also be locked in its operated position. The actuator may move rectilinearly as shown, or may be pivoted; the slot then being arcuate al out the actuator pivot.
