Abstract

1359566 Herbicidal arsenical compositions WITCO CHEMICAL CORP 9 Nov 1972 [9 Nov 1971] 51791/72 Heading A5E A herbicidal concentrate comprises an aqueous solution which comprises from 25% to 60% by weight based on the weight of the concentrate of methylarsonic acid, dimethylarsinic acid and/or a water-soluble ammonium, alkali metal or monoethanolamine salt thereof; from 1% to 4.5% by weight based on the weight of the concentrate of a coupler which is a butoxypolyethoxyethanol monophosphate or a water-soluble ammonium, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or monoethanolamine salt thereof, the monophosphate having the general formula:- wherein the value of n averages from one to three or which is a mixture thereof with a diester of the monophosphate, the diester being present in an amount of not more than 15% by weight of the monophosphate; and from 1% to 6% by weight based on the weight of the concentrate of a surfactant which is a C 10 -C 15 aliphatic alcohol ethoxylated with from 5 to 12 moles of ethylene oxide or a phosphate ester or sulphate ester thereof, a C 5 -C 10 alkyl phenol ethoxylated with from 7 to 10 moles of ethylene oxide or a phosphate ester or sulphate ester thereof; the concentrate comprising the coupler and surfactant in a total combined amount of not more than 7.5% by weight of the concentrate.
