Abstract
135,881. Le Breton, E. L. J., and Surridge, L. T. Aug. 30, 1918. Wood floors other than wood-block; joist floors; metal floors; roofing; walls and partitions.-Flooring, roofing, staging, and partitioning consists of panels or sections formed of boards, wood substitutes, metal, concrete, &c. and detachably secured to joists by clamping-plates C, Figs. 2 and 11, which, overlap the corners of four adjacent panels and lie flush with the upper face. The clamp bolts E are either held rigidly to the joists or are slidable in slotted plates M to allow for expansion. The abutting ends of panels may be grooved and connected by a metal tongue, or they may be shaped to engage a dovetailed wooden fillet G, Fig. 5, or a metal guide H, Fig. 6. The ledgers B on the back of the panels may be bevelled to engage either cleats K, Fig. 8, on the boards, or undercut therein; or T-shaped metal bars, Fig. 10, or round rods or cables may be engaged by cleats or clips. The panels may be pressed together by spring frames such as are described in Specification 141,086.
