Abstract

1358818 Cartridge-type tape players MOTOROLA Inc 1 Feb 1973 [11 Feb 1972] 5158/73 Heading G5R A cartridge 43, containing a magnetic recording tape 41 and a pressure roller 45, on insertion into a tunnel 20 is held in operative position, e.g. against a fixed stop 62, by a latch 22, and a movably mounted drive capstan 44 is reiliently biased towards the pressure roller 45. As shown, the bias is applied by a coil spring 58 acting on a frame 54, which is pivoted at 56 and carries the capstan 44, drive motor 48, magnetic head 42, tape guide 50, and sensor 52 for triggering the track-changing mechanism.
