Abstract

1358670 Sparking-plug connectors KABELUND METALLWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNG SHUTTE AG 14 Aug 1972 [25 Aug 1971] 37831/72 Heading H2E A spark-plug connector comprises a contact 6, connected to the cable 1 via a resistor 5; a body 2 of heat-reistant thermosetting resin, having four fingers 12 with ribs 8 which grip the cable 1; an outer casing 3 of similar material ; a sealing body 4 of elastomeric material; and, optionally a metal interference screen 7. In assembly, first the body 2 is fitted over the prepared cable ends, then the body 3 is slid along the cable 1 until hooks 9 on the fingers 12 snap over a shoulder, and finally elastomeric material is introduced to form the body 4. The body 4 fills up all the spaces inside the connector to prevent creepage currents, secures the resistor 5, prevents kinking of the cable 1, narrows the aperture 10 to provide a firm fit over the sparkplug, and seals both ends of the connector against moisture.
