Abstract

1357552 Valves VYZKUMNY USTAV AUTOMATIZACNICH PROSTREDKU 11 May 1971 [12 May 1970] 10144/73 Divided out of 1357551 Heading F2V An electrically-actuated fluid valve includes an inlet bore, an armature and a valve seat, all having a common axis. The armature has a valve part which seals against the valve seat when an associated solenoid is not energized and which is raised from the seat to allow fluid to flow when the solenoid is energized. The valve may be used in an assembly as described in Specification 1,357,551. As disclosed, the valve has an inlet bore 21 and an axially movable armature 27 with an axial bore 28. The end of bore 28 is sealed by plug 33, the plug being pressed against a valve seat, forming one end of an outlet bore 32, by a spring 35 which urges the armature downwards. The other end of the spring presses against a sealing disc 34. When solenoid coil 26 is energized the armature rises so that air, passing via bore 21, bore 28, and radially extending holes in the armature, is discharged via the bore 32. Armature 27 and the end of bore 21 are prevented from abutting by a brass cylinder 25 to avoid magnetic sticktion effects. There is no member between the armature and the former 24 of the solenoid. The valve may be secured with its axis perpendicular to a base-plate by means of a nut 30.
