Abstract

1357186 Conduits; two-part couplings HONEYWELL INFORMATION SYSTEMS ITALIA SpA 19 April 1971 [12 March 1970] 23984/71 Headings H2E and H2C [Also in Division H1] A flexible cable comprising a plurality of conductors which are covered by insulating material has openings in the insulation at intervals along its length through which electrical connection can be made to the conductors. The cable is laid in a hollow duct 17 which has openings 18 coinciding with the connection points of the cable. A connection system shown in Fig. 8, comprises the portion of a flexible tape cable in which the conductors are uncovered being folded over two parallel rectangular blocks 19, 20 which define a groove 21 between them. A clamping bracket 22 retains the cable in position to form a female connector into which male connectors of a known type may be inserted. In a connection system shown in Fig. 9, tabs 22, 23 of flexible tape cable, whose conductors have the same spacing as those of the main cable, have their conductors soldered to the conductors of the main cable, at a position in which the conductors are uncovered, to form a female connector. Rigid elements 24, 25 ensure the necessary contact pressure when a male connector is inserted.
