1357037 Heterocyclic thiocarbonates E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 10 Dec 1971 [16 Dec 1970] 57520/71 Heading 020 [Also in Division G2] Compounds of the formula (a) where n is 1, A is 1-phenyltetrazol-5-yl or benzothiazolyl, Y is -S-, Z is -S- or -SO 2 - and R p represents hydrogen, methyl, chloro, trichloro or pentachloro are made by reacting 1 - phenyl - 5 - mercapto - tetrazole with phenyl-, p-chlorophenyl- or p- or m - tolyl - thioethylene chloroformate or with p - tolylsulphonylethylene chloroformate, or alternatively by reacting 1-phenyl-5-(#-bromoethoxy - carbonylthio) tetrazole with 2 : 4 : 5- trichlorothiophenol, pentachlorothiophenol or sodium p - toluene - sulphinate; or (b) where n= 2<SP>-</SP>, A is thiadiazol-2 : 5-diyl, each Y is -S- or one is -S- and the other is -NH-, Z is -S- or -SO 2 - and R p represents hydrogen, methyl or pentachloro are made by reacting 2 : 5 - dimercaptothiadiazole or 2 - amino - 5- mercaptothiadiazole with p-tolylthioethylene chloroformate or p - tolylsulphonylethylene chloroformate, or by reacting 2 - amino - 5- mercapto - thiadiazole with pentachlorophenylthioethylene chloroformate or benzenesulphonylethylene chloroformate. 1 - Phenyl- 5 - (# - bromoethoxy - carbonylthio) - tetrazole is made by reacting the K salt of 1-phenyl-5- mercaptotetrazole with # - bromoethylchloroformic acid.
