1356618 Partitions SAPOLITE A S and J S JOHANSEN 4 Oct 1971 46120/71 Heading E1W A partition panel 20 (e.g. of wood fibre) has a batten 21 inclined relative to a support column 12 (e.g. of wood or extruded metal) and which defines a groove open towards the column, the groove co-operating with at least one wedge 13 on the column. The panel may firstly be engaged with a lower wedge 13 and an upper wedge 14 pointing in the opposite direction to the lower wedge subsequently slid into position along the column. A filler plate 25 occupies a gap between the panel's top and the ceiling 10. Alternatively, each column may carry a plurality of wedges pointing in the same direction to define a rack and either a plurality of panels may be mounted thereon or one panel may have a plurality of battens corresponding to the wedges. Sound and heat insulators may be included between parallel panels 20. Columns 12 may be provided at both edges of the panel 20, at only one edge (the other edge having a tongue and groove arrangement) or in the panel's middle.
