Abstract

1356206 Drying-rack N MANOR 4 Jan 1972 317/72 Heading A4A A rack-assembly 20 for holding a plurality of dishes of other utensils in an enclosure 13' having an open-bottom, comprises a plurality of rails 13 mounted within the enclosure 13', two racks 10 slidably supported on the rails 13 to be movable upwardly or downwardly, into or out of the enclosure 13', a pair of manipulator members 16 each made of springy material and each fixed at its upper end to the rackassembly 20, each member 16 including a latch element 16" engageable with the enclosure 13' to retain the rack-assembly 20 therein and a hand-grip 16' at its lower end to enable a user to flex the members 16 together to disengage the latch elements 16' to allow the rackassembly 20 to be moved downwardly out of the enclosure 13'. A latch member 17 of springy material is fixed with its lower end to one side of the rack-assembly 20 and has a horizontal portion (e) Fig. 7 (not shown) which holds the rack-assembly 20 outside the enclosure 13'. The latch member 17 has lateral extensions (77') which engage with one of the manipulator members 16 so that when the members 16 are swung inwardly the portion (c) is disengaged from the enclosure to allow the rack-assembly 20 to be raised. Each rack 10 comprises a number of U-shaped disc-like elements 1 held together by rods 2 passing through the elements 1 and separating pieces 3, with each rod being secured by nuts 2' at each end. The rack-assembly 20 is suspended from the top of the enclosure by helical springs (15) Fig. 2 (not shown).
