Abstract

1355555 Extracting cores from castings NAUCHNO-ISSLEDOVATELSKY INSTITUT SPETSIALNYKH SPOSOBOVLITYA 18 June 1971 28735/71 Heading B3F A device for withdrawing cores from catings comprises a movable plate 5 for supporting a core 2, and a plurality of hydraulic or pneumatic piston-and-cylinder units 10, 7 located around the perimeter of the plate 5. The pistons 10 are fixed to brackets 8 secured to the plate 5 and the cylinders 7 are slidable in sleeves 6, the arrangement being such that admission of pressure fluid to the cylinders 7 forces them against the die 1 and thus causes the plate 5 together with the core 2 to be raised away from the die. The plate 5 is movable through larger distances by a piston-and-cylinder unit 13 and is guided by rods 14 passing through sleeves 4 in an arm 3.
