Abstract
1355464 3,4-Dichlorobutene-1 KNAPSACKAG 11 Aug 1972 [20 Aug 1971] 37569/72 Heading C2C [Also in Division B1] 3,4-Dichlorobutene-1 is prepared by isomerizing 1,4-dichlorobutene-2 under substantially anhydrous conditions in the liquid phase at elevated temperature and under reduced pressure in contact with an inert carrier-supported catalyst containing Cu(I)Cl and NaCl or KCl as its active ingredient, and distilling off the resulting 3,4-dichlorobutene-1 consistently with its formation. The catalyst preferably has 0À5- 14% by weight of Cu(I)Cl and 0À1-10% by weight of NaCl or KCl.
