1353638 Swimming pools W AMANN 6 July 1971 [18 Feb 1971] 31678/71 Heading A4N A swimming pool, which is fabricated in a form such that it can be disassembled and transported, comprises an enclosure of which the walls are each constructed of a plurality of vertically extending slats 6 which abut each other along their lateral edges, a holding-frame 5 surrounding said slats at a height of approximately 1/3 the distance from the bottom of the slats, the upper and lower edges of said slats being disposed in upper and lower channel members 9, Fig. 3, and a waterproof lining 4, Fig. 1, disposed within the enclosure. The holding-frame is assembled of force-fitted tubes of rectangular cross-section of synthetic plastics or metallic material. The frame is reinforced and held by lateral supports 7, and struts 8 which extend transversely below the bottom of the swimming pool. The walls of the pool may be both stiffened and strengthened by using the channel members 9, by inter-connecting and inter-locking the adjacent surfaces of the slats 6 with groove (1) and torque (2) Fig. 5 (not shown), and by bolting each slat to the holding-frame using a Z-shaped fitting (3). The upper edge or rim of the swimming pool can be covered with prefabricated elements (10), e.g. synthetic plastics or stone plates, which are glued with cement (15) Fig 4 (not shown) to the upper, U-shaped channels 9. The plates (10) are roughened to decrease the possibility of bathers slipping on them and the edges are preferably bent downward, the plates also serving as a seating-edge and a border toprevent water spilling over the edge of the pool during bathing. The absolute depth of the pool may be increased by using slats having two differing lengths. Fig. 6 (not shown) illustrates the formation of the slats such that adjacent units intersect telescopically. Furthermore, the holding-frame 5 surrounding the pool functions as a step or standing surface and thus facilitates entering the swimming pool.
