Abstract
1353562 Electro-chemical cutting disc POLYGRAPH LEIPZIG KOMBINAT FUR POLYGRAPHISCHE MASCHINEN UND AUSRUSTUNGEN VEB 29 March 1972 14749/72 Heading C7B An electro-chemical cutting disc comprises a pair of electrically connected metal discs spaced apart to define a cavity therebetween, at least one of the discs being provided with an opening for introducing electrolyte into the cavity and at least one of the discs being provided with impeller vanes projecting towards the surface of the other disc. The central portion of the discs may extend outwardly from the plane of the disc to define a funnel-shaped extension of the cavity. The discs are made of steel or copper and the outer sides may be covered in an insulating layer of tarepoxy resin. Discs 11 and 12 having impeller vanes 4 are contained in a housing 9. The discs are attached to drive shaft 15 by means of clamping flanges 13 and insulating sleeve 14. Electrical contact is maintained by spring-loaded brushes 18. Electrolyte enters the drive-shaft 15 through tube 32, flows through the axial hole and passes out into the disc cavity via cross hole 36.
