Abstract

1352966 Rotary positive-displacement machines ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 2 May 1972 [12 May 1971] 20277/72 Heading F1F A vane-type pump for injecting air into an I. C. engine exhaust-system has a rotor 3 driven by a pulley 19 through a magnetic clutch 14, the vanes 4 revolving about a fixed pin 5. The clutch includes a pole ring 13 coupled to the rotor by a key 11 and which when energized by a coil 15 attracts an armature ring 17 on an annular leafspring 18. Rotation of the coil is prevented by a plate 21. Means (not shown) is provided to disengage the clutch when an upper speed limit for the pump is exceeded.
