Abstract

1352444 Radiological apparatus PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 21 July 1971 [24 July 1970] 34168/71 Heading H5R Radiological diagnostic apparatus includes a vertically disposed annular support 1 around which two carriages 4 and 5 are movable, carriage 4 including a rotary shaft 11 bearing a carrier arm 12 which supports an X-ray tube 13 and a detector 16, and carriage 5 including a rotary shaft 19 carrying a support 20 which houses a telescopic shaft which is rotatable about an axis perpendicular to that of shaft 19, and which carries a patient support 21. The arrangement is such that, when arm 12 is disposed as shown, the X-ray beam coincides with the axis of the annulus 1. The detector 16 may be preceded by an image intensifier 15, and by a carrier 17 for X-ray film.
