1352158 Electro-photographic image reproduction XEROX CORP 19 April 1971 [30 March 1970] 31521/73 Divided out of 1352157 Heading G2H An imaging method comprises providing an imaging member having adjacent photo-conductive and electric field deformable elastomeric layers with a deformable layer of conductive gas contacting said deformable elastomer layer ionizing said conductive gas and subjecting said imaging member to an electrofield, and exposing said imaging member to information modulated electromagnetic radiation to which the photoconductive material is responsive to the elastomer layer. Ionization may be accomplished by glow discharge, radio frequency excitation, intense radio-activity or arc discharge.
