Abstract
1352107 Electrically conductive polymer compositions RHONE-POULENC SA 25 May 1972 [28 May 1971] 24763/72 Headings C3P and C3R An electrically conductive material comprises 15-65% of a polyolefine, cellulosic polymer, vinyl chloride or vinyl acetate homopolymer polystyrene, an acrylic or methacrylic polymer or a polyamide, 85-35% of a mixture of carbon black and graphite containing 40-80% of carbon black and 0-40% of plasticizer. The polymer may be dissolved in a suitable solvent to facilitate mixing and in addition plasticizer may be added during mixing and forming of the material and may then be removed. In examples the graphite and carbon black may be mixed with polyvinyl chloride, optionally mixed with polyethylene wax, or with a mixture of polyisobutylene and polyethylene. Dioctyl phthalate was used as plasticizer and oyclohexanone and tetrahydrofuran as solvents. Other optional additives used include zinc stearate, mineral wax, and bis- (isooctylthioglycollate)-dibutyl tin.
