Abstract

Thermoplastic polymers are filled with 80 to 400%, pref. 100 to 220% of their wt. of conducting filler consisting of carbon black and graphite in which the proportion of carbon black is between 40 and 80%. Pref. mean dia. of the carbon black particles is 0.1mu and the mean dia. of the graphite particles is 100mu. The polymers may be polyolefins or cellulosic polymers, particularly cellulose acetate, PVC, polyvinyl acetate, polystyrene, (meth)acrylic polymers or polyamides, and may contain 10 to 150% of plasticiser. The polymers are specif. used as films as electrodes for electrical generators.
