Abstract

1351951 Orienting closures AMERICAN FLANGE & MFG CO Inc 5 Aug 1971 [8 Sept 1970] 36850/71 Heading B8S Closures 30, Fig. 1, are fed under a block 21 by a rotating table 1 and are blown along under an apertured plate 12 by air which passes through a conduit 23, 24 Fig. 5. When the closures pass under the aperture 14 in the plate 12 those which are oriented as shown in Fig. 8 are blown up through the aperture 14 by a jet of air from a conduit 10, 11. As they move upwards a further jet of air from a nozzle 20 blows them back on to the table 1. Closures which are the opposite way up pass to a further processing station. Air from a conduit 17, 18, Fig. 6, pushes the closures towards the conduit 10, 11.
