Abstract

1360230 Feeding container closures; shoots FORDS (FINSBURY) Ltd 18 Aug 1972 [18 Aug 1971] 38800/71 Headings B8T and B8S Closure caps 1a-1d are fed to closureapplying stations (7), Fig. 1 (not shown), by a main shoot 3 inclined to the horizontal and extending above subsidiary shoots 6 each leading to a station (7), a floor 5 being pivoted at 8 to allow caps resting on it to fall into respective shoots 6. The floor 5 may be pivoted by means of an air cylinder or electric solenoid 9 operated by containers approaching the cap-applying stations. The floor 5 has a stop plate 10 to hold back succeeding caps and separators 10a to guide the caps into the shoots 6. The caps may be fed from a press (2) or from a hopper. The floor 5 may be divided into selectively movable sections.
