Abstract
1351400 Gyratory crushers BARBER GREENE CO 20 Dec 1972 [27 Dec 1971] 58971/72 Heading B2A A gyratory crusher comprises means to restrain rotation of the head in the same direction as that in which the eccentric rotates. As described a head 12, Fig. 1, is journalled in a shaft 10 and the eccentric 11 is driven by a drive shaft 15 causing the shaft 10 and head 12 to gyrate and tend to rotate in the absence of material in the crushing chamber 14. A shaft nut 21 is provided at the top of the shaft. In one embodiment angle members 29 are welded in opposite sides of the nut 21, Fig. 2. Steel cables 23, 24 are tensioned by springs 32 and nuts 30, Fig. 3. The cables prevent rotation of the nut and its attached eccentric shaft when the crusher is unloaded. Backward relative rotation is however possible, caused by material in the crushing chamber presenting a high torque. The restraining means can, in a second embodiment, be arranged at the bottom of the shaft 10 which may have an extension 40 which in turn bears an eccentric member 42. This has opposite flat sides 43, 44 against which bear cables 46, Fig. 5 and 47, Fig: 6.
