Abstract

1326447 Stirrer type mills W A BACHOFEN 27 May 1971 [9 June 1970] 17554/71 Heading B2A A stirrer-type ball mill comprises a frame I, a container 14 supported by the frame to receive a suspension including a component to be ground, at least one agitator 10 disposed in the container to act on the suspension, agitator driving means 7 sealingly mounted in a annular portion 14b connected rigidly with the frame and resiliently with the end of the cylindrical portion 14a of the container to close off that end of the container. The means 7 is a driven shaft 7a that projects into the container through a stuffing box sealed in the portion 14b that is connected to the portion 14a by an annular disc of elastic material. The housing 14a of the container 14 may be elastically connected to the frame.
