Abstract

1351282 Anchoring posts HEMLAB AG 19 April 1971 [26 March 1970 5 June 1970] 14903/70 and 27330/70 Heading E1B [Also in Division F2] A structure, e.g. a vehicle crash barrier post base 4, is secured in a hole in a substrate, e.g. concrete, using a collar 1 in which are inserted bolts 2, 3, the bolt 2 and collar 1 being set in the substrate, preferably by a method as described in Specification 1127913, with a curable resin composition, e.g. a hardenable epoxy or polyester resin, such that the breaking load of the bolt 3 is less than that of the anchorage member, constituted by the collar 1 and bolt 2, and less than the load required to pull the collar out of the hole. The tensile strength of the anchorage member is to this end greater than that of the bolt 3 so that if a vehicle collides with the post, bolt 3 will fracture leaving the collar undamaged. In a modification (not shown) the collar 1 and bolt 2 as formed as an integral unit.
