Abstract

1351175 Joint sealing members ACME HIGHWAY PRODUCTS CORP 3 May 1971 [16 Feb 1971] 12709/71 Heading E1B An elongate elastic neoprene sealing member for an expansion joint comprises two side portions and an intermediate portion formed integrally. The intermediate portion has an internal truss structure allowing it to expand and contract in the manner of a concertina. The end portions are tubular with walls 18, 20, 32, 26 thicker than those of the intermediate portion and braced so as to prevent its collapse in compression until the intermediate portion is substantially fully collapsed. The outer surfaces of the end portions may have longitudinal grooves 114 which serve to retain a settable liquid adhesive during installation.
