Abstract

1351079 Anaerobic-curing compositions SPOLEK PRO CHEMICKOU A HUTNI VYROBU 5 April 1972 [25 May 1971] 15655/72 Heading C3P Anaerobic-curing compositions, which harden upon the exclusion of air, comprise polymerizable monomers, an organic hydroperoxide, and a tertiary amine or an alkylated amide, said monomers comprising a mixture of (a) an acrylic or methacrylic diester of an epoxy resin having two terminal epoxy groups, (b) a triester of acrylic or methacrylic acid and a compound selected from trimethylol propane, trimethylolethane, pentaerythritol monoacetate, pentaerythritol monolaurate and pentaerythritol monostearate, (c) an ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid and an aliphatic monohydric alcohol and 0-60% by weight of total monomers of (d) a monoester and/or diester of acrylic or methacrylic acid and a glycol and/or polyglycol. In use, curing of the compositions can be accelerated by activating at least one of the surfaces to be bonded with the composition with a solution of a metal (e.g. Co, Fe, Mn or Cu) soap in an organic solvent.
